Mark S. Miller, Chief Executive Officer

Mark Miller, a native of Sarasota, founded Westwater Construction in 1991 providing excellence in custom residential building and renovations, and commercial renovations tailored to the demands of his clients. Early on, he established a reputation for quality and efficiency, placing Westwater Construction in high demand among Southwest Florida's most discriminating home-builders, general contractors, and business people seeking excellence balanced with reasonable expense.

As this reputation grew and flourished through the 1990's, Mr. Miller realized that corporate expansion would be essential for Westwater in the new millennium. Therefore, he made the decision to search for further dimension and depth to insure the continued success of his already thriving company. Today, the company manages 15-25 projects at once with excellent results.

Leadership. Discipline. Hard work. Preparation. Through his unique experience garnered from an 11-year career with the Indianapolis Colts and New York Giants, Mr. Bratzke brings these attributes, and more, to lead the Westwater “team” to a winning outcome on every project. A native of Brandon, Fla., he began his real estate career during his playing days and built an expertise by investing in real estate projects throughout the country. A graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, Mr. Bratzke earned a degree in Broadcasting and has the university’s Student-Athlete Academic Success Center named in his honor.

With an international mix of architecture, management and legal expertise, Ms. Joels bring a diverse background to the company’s executive team. A native of England, she received a B.S. degree from the Bartlett School of Architecture (University College London) and, later, a law degree from Pace Law School, White Plains, NY. Prior to joining Westwater in 2006, Ms. Joels served as an attorney with Abel Band (six years) as well as owning her own law practice (4 years).

Lee VanDegrift moved to Sarasota/Bradenton in 1971 and has over 35 years of construction and development knowledge and experience in the State of Florida.

Mr. VanDegrift joined Westwater Construction, Inc. after 24 years of employment as a Project Manager and the Vice President of National Development Corporation, a Pittsburgh, PA based developer/construction management firm located in Bradenton, Florida. His experience covers site development, single family residential, apartment/multi-family complexes, condominium complexes, professional office buildings, shopping centers, medical office buildings, medical surgery facilities, school remodeling and governmental facilities/buildings.

Casey McDaniel is a 1996 graduate of University of South Florida where she earned a B.S. in Accounting and went on to become a licensed CPA in the State of Florida. Prior to her arrival at Westwater Construction, she was employed as a realtor and accountant with Sarasota-based Cristello & Company Real Estate, Inc. Previous to that, she was employed by Bealls, Inc. in Bradenton as a Finance Manager in charge of administering the 401k plan. Other positions with Bealls, Inc. included Risk Manager and Senior Internal Auditor.

Michael Perry was born and raised in New Jersey and moved to Florida in 2005.  He brings to Westwater Construction over 13 years of experience in the Architecture and Construction field.  Prior to joining Westwater, Mr. Perry was employed as an Assistant Project Manager for Pulte Homes, Tampa Division, where he was responsible for the construction of a 96 Unit, 4-story Condominium project called Monterey at Lake Seminole.  Before Pulte, Mr. Perry worked for Toll Brothers City Living Division in Hoboken, New Jersey, for seven years building Mid-rise and Hi-rise Luxury Condominiums. His construction experience covers Luxury Condominiums, Design Centers and Office Interiors.  He also has a strong architecture background with more than 4 years experience designing single family homes and light commercial.

Michael is a 1993 graduate of New York Institute of Technology where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Technology.
